"Fantastic Festival Finale"

The Darvel '4' Seasons Music Festival returns after the summer break with four great concerts during autumn and winter. The organisers have also just announced the rescheduling of the Bruce Guthro concert from 10 September 2010 to May 2011 (as part of the Darvel 10th Anniversary Music Festival).

A new show has been added on Friday 29th October featuring the fantastic sounds of JJ Gilmour, Skerryvore and Acoustic Butterfly. The organisers have a real treat in store for fans of the multi-award winning US jazz-rock guitarist Larry Carlton when he performs his first and ONLY Scottish concert for over thirty five years. Larry has appeared on classic albums by and performed 'live' with Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, The Crusaders, Michael Jackson and many other great artists. The Larry Carlton Trio will be joined on this memorable evening by legendary UK jazz guitarist; Martin Taylor M.B.E. Martin is making a welcome return to Darvel, having made a headline appearance last year. He has received many accolades within the music industry and is the favourite guitarist of another US Jazz legend, Pat Metheny. Make sure to make a note of Saturday 30th October for your diaries!

The Darvel '4' Seasons Festival finishes with two fantastic concerts on the 26th and 27th of November, with music to stir the soul and stomp your feet to during the Saint Andrew's weekend of celebrations. The first show features Dougie MacLean and his band. Dougie has one of the finest voices in Scotland and his song-writing is second to none. 'Caledonia' is known throughout the world and was chosen as the theme song for the 'Homecoming' last year. Dougie will be supported by acoustic troubadour, Phil Campbell. The Glasgow born artist has received great acclaim amongst music pundits for his 'live' performances and musicianship.

Our great year of music sadly comes to an end on Saturday 27th November with the Peatbog Faeries. The Peatbogs are an amazing 'live' act and their combination of traditional and world music will have you dancing in the aisles at Darvel Town Hall. The two times Traditional Musicians of the Year will be joined on the bill by Darvel favourite Iain Morrison and his band. Iain received a five star review in the Glasgow Herald for his sensational performance at this year's Celtic Connections.

Darvel Music Company Director and Festival Chairperson Sheila McKenna said "We have really enjoyed all the fantastic acts who have performed at the '4' Seasons Festival. We started in March and since then over twenty national and international acts have appeared on stage". Sheila added, "Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for the 10th September, Bruce Guthro concert can use it for the rescheduled show. Tickets will soon be available to purchase for Bruce's new concert in May next year (Darvel will be his only West of Scotland performance). Tickets for the JJ Gilmour Band who will be appearing at Darvel Town Hall on the 29th of October with Skerryvore and Acoustic Butterfly will go on sale from 17th August. In addition, Larry Carlton tickets are selling very fast and expected to sell-out so we would urge fans to contact our ticket outlets as soon as possible".

Concert tickets are on sale at Andely Wines, Darvel, Valhalla Music in Kilmarnock, Ticket Scotland, Glasgow and via PAYPAL at the festival website www.darvelmusicfestival.org
