The Train Wreckers

Friday 11th June 2010 ('4' Seasons Festival 2010)

This is the hottest 4-piece band on the live music scene in the past, present and future.

Gattlin' Axe Forman - lead & rhythm guitars

In his first life Gattlin' Axe was wounded in a shootout with Wyatt Earp and survived a gunfight with Judge Roy Bean. Now he picks up rave reviews as the hottest guitar player in the west. Expect frets to be burnin' form the start of this performance as Gattlin' Axe displays the style which has engendered comparisons with Roy Buchanan and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Floorstompin' Leroy Scott - bass, lead vocals & harpsichord

A contemporary of Frank and Jesse James in his first life, Leroy was wanted dead or alive by various law enforcement agencies. Now he nails the low notes, bloes the harp and hollers out the songs. Floorstompin' Leroy Scott was an influence of John Entwistle, Johnny Cash and Lemmy.

Towerin' Memphis Stax - tenor sax, backing vocals & story tellin'

Colossal is the only word to describe Stax, both in stature and muiscal presentation. This cat is a giant in the world of sax, bringinn' jazz chops and eral drive to the Wreckers. Stax shows styling from players such as Sonny Rollins, King Curtis and Clarence Clemons. Watch out when Stax is about!

Surfin' Dude Younger - drums

The poster-boy of the band, few drummers can match the feel and technique of the Surfin' Dude. A relative of the infamous Cole Younger, the Dude shares an affinity with the Wild West but shuffles beats and not bullets. He has distilled the talents of great players like Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa and Billy Cobham and added his own twist. Check this kid out……

The mystery train keeps rollin' and the Train Wreckers are on it. Appearing Live for one night only - bringin' a fist full of rootsy rockin' tunes and swingin' jungle grooves from the 50's and 60's.... and much more!

The Train Wreckers are:

Footstompin' Leroy Scott - Lead vocals & bass (b. Kentucky 1834; d. 1874)

Gattlin' Axe Forman - Lead and rhythm guitars (b. Kentucky 1834; d. 1874)

Towerin' Memphis Stax - Tenor sax & backing vocals (b. Memphis 1923; 'disappeared' 1963)

Surfin' Dude Younger - Drums (b. San Diego 1943; 'disappeared' 1968)

Their mystery train takes you from Elvis to Motorhead and from Bill Haley to Jaco Pastorius in seconds. One minute you'll be knocked to the ground by the explosive sound of Dick Dale & The Deltones (and other classic rock'n'surf sounds revived by the cult 'Pulp Fiction' movie in 1994) and the next you'll be blues-jivin' along to Louis Jordan. There's no one plays the USSR genre quite like the Train Wreckers - well they created it!
