Kieran Docherty Band

Doors 7.30pm Tickets £10
Kieran's unique brand of acoustica draws on country, pop and folk traditions to great effect. Although influenced by a wide range of singer-songwriters, comparisons are often drawn to Neil Finn, Roddy Frame or Kevin McDermott.
Debut album "Expectations", released by River Records in 2005, was recorded at Glasgow's Paw Paw studios (home to Capercaille and James Grant) and produced by fellow Scottish songwriter, Roddy Hart. A culmination of two years writing and performing, the album welds strong melodies and emotionally charged lyrics, with a full band sound.
The follow-up album "Hands up if you've had enough" was recorded in April 2007 at Park Lane studio in Glasgow, and his performance at Darvel Music Festival will be one of the first chances to hear Kieran showcase these new songs.
"Very impressive indeed" Iain Anderson - BBC Radio Scotland
"Glorious gem waiting to be discovered" Avril Cadden - Sunday Mail
"A fantastic Scottish songwriter and performer-unique, relaxed and intimate songs " BBC Celtic Roots
