Maeve O'Boyle

Friday 26th March 2010 ('4' Seasons Festival 2010)

Produced by Calum Malcolm (Blue Nile), "All My Sins", is the perfect introduction to an exciting new talent, and showcases Maeve's intrinsic ability to captivate through her lyrics and a distinctively, beautiful voice.

Maeve first came to prominence in 2006 when invited to perform at Celtic Connections where she won a "Danny" on The Danny Kyle Stage for new acts. Later that year she won the Artist's category in the Daily Record National Talent Search.

The following months saw Maeve adding to her songbook, with the help of writers Gordon Goudie, Ricky Ross and Francis MacDonald. Writing and performing with Scotland's musical elite inspired Maeve and she carried this energy into acclaimed performances nationwide including dates with John Cale (Velvet Underground) and Sandi Thom on her sold out UK tour.

Captivating audiences up and down the country, Maeve soon gained a reputation for her natural ability to perform and to write songs for those who listen. Testament to her mounting status was an entry into The Scotsman "Scots Women of the Year" in 2007 and a recommendation by the Daily Record showbiz editors as "One to Watch".

In 2008, Maeve performed with her band in London and Glasgow as part of The JD Set showcase. She also headlined in a sell-out date at Glasgow's prestigious Oran Mor before accepting an invitation to perform at Live at Loch Lomond with Ocean Colour Scene and The Sex Pistols.

Her growing reputation and versatile approach saw her perform acoustic sessions with such artists as Eleanor McEvoy (only a woman), Martyn Joseph, Boo Hewardine and The Mercurymen.

With an ever-growing book of songs and a solid performing background, "All My Sins" is just the beginning.

"When Maeve sang for me I thought she was fantastic. I could listen to
her Voice all day... She's up there with anyone." Ricky Ross (Deacon
Blue, James Blunt)

"... Poignant, touching, personal and meaningful... A very genuine
performer" Evening Times Celtic Connections

"Her raw energy just suck you in" John McLaughlin Speaking to The Daily
Record.

" (her) ability to make music that connects and appeals to a very wide
audience is what marks O'Boyle as more than just another female singer
to add to the list." stv.tv
