Darvel Festival 2008 and 2009
The Darvel Music Festival has steadily gained recognition from discerning audiences and international and national performers alike over the past six years. It is now one of the highlights on the vibrant Scottish music scene and eagerly anticipated by lovers of 'live' performance due to the friendly atmosphere at the venue, the quality and range of artistes on offer and the rustic rural charm of the town (only 22 miles from Glasgow). Acts appearing at this year's mini-festival weekend in September include; The Hamish Stuart Band, Crash My Model Car, Session A9, Endrick Brothers, Roddy Hart Band, Dumb Instrument, Yvonne Lyon, Lee Patterson and Dave Bateman. The event will whet the appetite for those looking forward to the main Darvel Music Festival which is due to return at a new time of May 2009. Past performers include; Hue and Cry, Capercaillie, Richmond Fontaine, Hamish Stuart Band, Bluetones, Willy Clay Band, Karine Polwart, Hayden and Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain.
