Festival 'Fringe' Event 2009

As part if it's commitment to promoting all levels of music, The Darvel Music Company will be showcasing some of the west of Scotland's finest unsigned and established bands at Darvel Town Hall on the 17th and 18th of April.

The fringe event which precedes the main 'Homecoming' festival in May is all about supporting emerging talent and giving bands the opportunity to perform with the same high quality professional sound and lighting production offered to the main acts at the 'Homecoming' event.

Sheila McKenna, Festival Director said "One of the key aims of our community music company is to nurture and promote local and regional acts so that they can take part in the 'wider' festival celebrations. Unfortunately we get many requests from bands and solo artists to perform and have to make difficult decisions as to who will be offered a slot at each show".
